Can you finance or lease websites and website development?
Leasing and finance for website development
There are companies that sell website templates that the average person can populate. For next to nothing, it is possible to have your own website. However, whilst this might be an option for some companies, for most larger enterprises, website development can be an expensive business.
So when you are spending £5,000 to £20,000 to develop a website, how can this be funded? Here we explore how leasing and finance can help you fund your new website.
Can you use leasing to help fund a website?
Most leasing companies will say no. Your website will have zero resale value in the event of them having to reposes it. The domain name might have some value, but rarely is this included in the cos of website development and even then, a leasing company would not be interested in trying to resell a domain name.
From a funders perspective, there are other issues with regards to what happens if the website does not work properly and who has legal title in it. However, there are times when we have leased website development.
How do you then fund website development?
WestWon can arrange business loans to fund websites or website development. Business loans can be from £3,000.00 upwards and can be repaid over periods between one and five years.

Can you finance or lease an off the shelf e-commerce website?
Yes, if the website frame is off the shelf, i.e. it is a set product that many companies can use, then yes we should be able to lease it. Sometimes, this may not be possible, but then we can still revert back to a business loan to help fund your e-commerce website.
