Your fleet can consist of 1 scaffolding wagon or 20, keeping your fleet up to date, road legal and compliant is an absolute must. There is a small amount of scaffolding companies who can maintain their fleet in-house. Employing a mechanic with their own purpose-built garage to maintain and repair their vehicles when required. The clear majority don’t have access to such luxuries, yet! Maintenance of a scaffold truck is expensive and time consuming. Low Emissions Zone – Coming to ALL major UK cities
As a country, we are always striving to be greener and to improve the environment that we live in. Cities across the country are adopting ‘Low Emission Zones’. These clean air zones are mainly targeting older, more polluting vehicles. Unfortunately, it is often the scaffold lorry! Unless your truck is running with a Euro 6 engine, expect to be charged for the pleasure of driving through a Low Emission Zone.
The Low Emission Zone is soon going to be ran through ALL major cities in the UK.

The majority of non-compliant vehicles can expect a £12.50 penalty charge.
Ultra Low Emissions Zone – Coming April 2019
I’m afraid it doesn’t stop there. If you receive and read my monthly emails, then you will be aware that London is introducing an Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) in April 2019. Any vehicle over 3.5t that isn’t running with a Euro 6 engine will result in a £100 daily charge – Monday to Sunday, 24/7.
